Best fonts and their use
on great sites

What's inside

Fonts A curated selection of typefaces, not every font on the web but only the best. Each comes with its foundry, classification, tags, and attributes, and the real sites it appears on, browsable as a list or one at a time.

Sites Real websites, carefully hand-picked. Each is broken down by the typefaces it uses, with their own tags and attributes, browsable as a grid or one at a time.

Insights Short pieces on the patterns across the index: the most-used typefaces, the foundries that quietly run the modern web, and a few more.

With an account

With a free account you can mark the typefaces you own or favorite, then filter the index down to just those, a quick way to work from your own shortlist.

VVisit the original site / foundry

Fontson is built and maintained by Emin İmamoğlu, a type designer by training. The text you're reading is set in one of his own typefaces. Fontson started as his personal Notion dashboard, opened up to the public in hopes it could be useful to others too. The site itself was built with the help of AI, but every site and typeface in the index is chosen and attributed by hand.

Spotted a site that should be in here, or a typeface I've misattributed? Email me at hello@fontson.com. These things are best fixed by people who notice. And if you have a project in mind or would like to collaborate, I'd be glad to hear from you.

The typefaces used on this site are Onsite by Sociotype and Reyhan by Plantype.
